ANENATAL EXERCISES

Regular exercise during pregnancy can improve health, reduce risk of excess weight gain and back pain and make delivery easier.

Suitable exercises during pregnancy ar brisk walking, swimming, indoor stationary cycling, prenatal yoga squatting & pelvic tilts as guided by an instructor.

Prenatal exercise (except brisk walking ) should be started after 16 weeks of pregnancy.

Brisk walking should be done for about 30-40 minutes every day. Other exercises should be done 20-30 minutes every day.


Exercise during pregnancy can help –

Increase the chance of natural birth

Shorten labour process

Decrease the need for pain relief

Speed up recovery after delivery

Reduce risk of gestational diabetes and hypertension
