SHOULD I TRACK MY BABYS MOVEMENTS
There are no set number of movements a baby should have, so routine counting kicks or recording on a chart is no longer recommended.Counting is done only in certain high risk pregnancies.
Instead, try to learn your baby’s movement pattern. It is different for each infant. If you notice anything unusual, seek out medical help as soon as possible.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY BABY STOPS MOVING
If you haven’t felt any movement from your baby by 24 weeks, see your doctor.
If you think your baby’s movements have decreased in number, contact your midwife or doctor immediately. Do not wait until the next day.
WHEN ARE FETAL/ BABYS MOVEMENTS MOST FELT
During the day, the motion of your own body can lull the fetus to sleep — and you're often focused on so many other things when you're up and about. But you will likely find that baby is more active when:
You've settled down for the night. When you're relaxed and more attuned to your body, you're also more likely to be aware of what the baby is up to.
After you have a snack. The surge in your blood sugar may give your baby a rush of energy.
When you're nervous. Adrenaline can have the same effect and give your little one a boost of energy too.
