PIH ( Pregnancy Induced Hypertension ) Also known as Gestational hypertension ( GH) is charactrised by high blood pressure during pregnancy. It can lead to serious coditions called pre-eclampsia and eclamsia. There are 3 common types of GH 1.CHRONIC HYPERTENSION Women who have high BP ( over 140/90 ) before pregnancy ( before 20 weeks ) or continue to have it after delivery. 2.GH High blood pressure that develops after 20 weeks of pregnancy and goes away after delivery. 3.PRE - ECLAMPSIA Both chronic HT and GH can lead to this severe condition after 20 weeks of pregnancy. It can cause serious complications for both mother and baby if not treated quickly. To be continued......
