LEUCORRHOEA( WHITE DISCHARGE PER VAGINA)
Vaginal discharge is one of the most common reasons for a visit to a gynecologist.Women of all ages experience leucorrhoea, at some time or another. This discharge may originate from the uterus, cervix( most common) or the vagina.
It is pale whitish, clear, mucinoid and sometimes yellowish.
In some women the discharge can be a few drops while in others it may be continuous.
Vaginal discharge does not always mean an infection, it helps to protects the interior of the body.
PHYSIOLOGICAL LEUCORRHOEA
Normal vaginal discharge occurs in teenage girls and reproductive aged women, usually consists of 1-4 ml in 24 hours.It is typically transparent, odourless, mucousy and white to
yellowish, odourless but can also be slightly malodorous.
This discharge increases with higher estrogen status like during ovulation, pregnancy, sexual excitement or when using OC pills.
This kind of discharge does not require any treatmant.
